Founded in the year of 2000,Universitas Pelita Harapan Conservatory of Music has graduated more than 200 Bachelors of Arts who are now either continuing their music study abroad or have established reputable careers as music performers, music educators, music arrangers or composers, music journalists, music therapist, musicologist, sound designers, music managers, recording artists, etc.

Currently, there are about 250 students who are trained to be professional in their specific music field under the guidance of 31 full-time and 32 part time lecturers. Some international lecturers of the UPH Conservatory of Music are from USA, Japan and Macedonia.


VISION AND MISSION

The objective of the UPH Conservatory of Music is to graduate young artists who will glorify God through all of their artistic endeavors. Within four years of intensive musical training, we aim to bring about their musical talents to the finest level of artistry so that they will be ready to meet the arduous demands of the current competitive music world.

There are 9 concentrations in the UPH Conservatory of Music and all of them carry a total of 145 credits hours of music courses ad liberal arts courses. Each concentration guides music students to specialize in a particular field of study. An audition and a diagnostic interview are required in the admission process to each of these concentrations in order to guarantee that students will be successful in pursuing their future career according to their talents and interest.

Matius Shanboone - UPH Conservatory of Music Alumni and former lecturer assistant won the Best Composition Award in the Southeast Asia Young Composers Festival.

Komponis muda Indonesia, Matius Shan Boone, berhasil meraih penghargaan 'Karya Terbaik' dalam Festival Komponis Muda Asia Tenggara. Penghargaan itu diperolehnya seusai mementaskan salah satu karya musik kontemporernya di Teater Tertutup Taman Budaya, Bandung, Sabtu (8/10) malam.
Menurut alumni Universitas Pelita Harapan Jakarta itu, ada kualitas mistik tentang kebenaran yang tekandung di dalam sebuah mukena. Pertanyaannya, sambung dia, mampukah kita mengungkap kebenaran itu? Dalam karyanya, Matius mencoba menjelaskan teka-teki tersebut; pergumulan batin dia antara keinginan untuk mengungkap misteri itu dan keinginan untuk tetap tinggal di dunia yang penuh teka-teki.

Dr. Tomislav Dimov Menerima Penghargaan Internasional Innovative ETD

Dr. Tomislav Dimov, Kepala Departemen String dan dosen biola Universitas Pelita Harapan Conservatory of Music serta penerima gelar doktor West Virginia University College of Creative Arts 2010 lalu merupakan salah satu dari tiga pemenang yang dipilih oleh NDLTD (Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations) untuk menerima penghargaan Innovative ETD 2011 (Electronic Theses and Dissertations) berdasarkan hasil riset penelitian untuk program doktornya.

UPH Conservatory of Music in collaboration

with Vania Larissa and Fabio Andreotti at UPH Gala Concert 18

This year, UPH presented the annual Gala Concert as one of the events celebrated at UPH Festival 18 at Grand Chapel on Thursday, August 5, 2011. The concert presented by Conservatory of Music was entitled “The Classical Harmony.” Approximately 2000 people attended the concert that featured the Rome Opera House tenor, Fabio Andreotti; The winner of Indonesia Got Talent, Vania Larissa; and four outstanding UPH Conservatory of Music lecturers: Ridolf Hehanussa, Dr. Tomislav Dimov, Dr. Kazuha Nakahara and soprano Delima Simamora.

This October, our UPH Conservatory of Music welcome the visiting Professor Tamás Ungár (Texas Christian University) for the special seminar on works/life of Franz Liszt and German Composer and Musicologist Dieter Mack for the music composition workshop "Timbral Composition" from Classic to Contemporary.
