Music Therapy

The goal of the department is to apply music as powerful therapeutic tool for rehabilitation of patients both physical and mental health by working on cognition, speech and language, motor control, emotional growth, and social skills. The department has been maintaining close relationships and associations with several schools, hospitals, and clinics; and is currently working on establishing relationships with Siloam Hospitals and Pro Kids Clinic, both in Tangerang area for students to be involved in research and internship.

Music therapy is the use of music and its aspects as non-verbal means of communication to improve clients' quality of life. This concentration is designed to prepare our students to work as music therapists with various age groups and populations in different clinical settings. Our music therapy clinic allows our trainees to observe music therapy sessions and undertake placements as part of their training requirements.

As the only university that offers music therapy concentration, we are also a member of the World Federation of Music Therapy.
